Words and phrases that bother me:
Con-sentinos. Is pronounced CO-sentinos. Only one "n".
Chipol-tee. Correctly pronounced ChiPOAT-lay. Like the pepper or the spice.
Aldis. You may use an "s", but only if you are talking about "multiple Aldis around town" or "Aldi's great deals." You never "go to Aldis" unless you are going to multiple locations.
Victoria Secrets. Who has the secret? Victoria! Victoria's Secret... Don't google that at work, Just trust me.
Starbucks is not a drink. It is a place. It is unlikely that you're going to "go get a Starbucks" this morning or ever.
I am a little OCD sometimes. But it's better if I just get it off my chest and apologize for being weird. I don't want to be irked when you say things wrong. It's not your fault. It's mine. Maybe I should practice saying these wordsincorrectly differently and then I won't notice so much.
Do I really think that will help? No. But I'm willing to try.
