Squeeeeezing

,
Is this real life?

Sometimes I feel like I can't thinks straight.

Or see straight.

Or think straight.

Or talk straight.

What was I saying? Oh yeah. My head hurts.

It's like a big muscle man like my hubster is squeeeezing my head. And my eyes water. And I have the memory of a dog. And I can't hear you talking. Or even if I can I don't want to cause it hurts.

My head hurts like that right now. And it's real life. So i thought I'd tell you.

If everytime someone asks you "how are you?" you respond "I'm great!" then you're a liar. Just come out in the open and tell people.

"My head is squeezing my brains and it hurts a lot. How are you?"

Tay-Has

,
Oooo kay doh kay. I'm overdue on my blogging.
Here's the rundown:

I got busy at work and am trying to keep my head above the water but it's mostly a good thing even though I'll miss my friend that is leaving a lot. She's been a great mentor.

The sis-by-law got engaged. That would be the hubs younger sister. December wedding. Countdown! I'm in charge of keeping everything on time and organized. Maybe someone didn't tell her about my habit of tardiness. Shhhh!

Aaaand I went to the great state of Tay-Has. Doncha know that is Texas is spanglish? Well. It. Is.

I went to visit a sorority sister, Laura (and her wonderful bf, Jared). We've talked about her before. That's how much I like the girl. She was a bridesmaid in my wedding and I've always been considered an honorary roommate of hers wherever she lives. Not sure which is more of an honor, but ya know... I also got to see another sister, Kristen. She also lives in Texas and has a passion for teaching and mentoring pre-teens. Love love love that. And love her cause she's sooo full of life and excitement.

Anyway, we had a wonderful laidback weekend. So much so, actually, that we don't have many pictures. It was mostly dinners, drinks, pool time, IKEA (more on that later), a fab dessert-slash-breakfast (yes, it can go either way), and a museum.

At the museum there was this rediculous exhibit that was a room fuuuuull of balloons. We're talking like 10 feet tall and probs 200 square feet. Laura and I made it like 4 steps in long enough to get these pictures and then got our claustrophobic selves out of there before we stopped breathing. We made it outside and were okay again. Well, we were fryyying in the sun, but we were okay.  :-)

I wanted to do the solfege on the musical stairs... you know the "do, so, la, fa, mi, do re" from the Sound of Music? Yeah there were musical stairs and I wanted to do it. But I didn't.

Funny that the Sound of Music just came on my iPod shuffle after I typed that. Oooh so fun.

Mom and Dad's music

,
I just love it.
How could I not?
A few days ago "Desperado" came on the radio in the car.
My pal got to listen to me sing along to the entire song.
He loves when I sing in the car, dontcha know.
It was follwed by "Boot Scootin Boogie"
I was a complete gonner.
I said "SING ALONG!"
He said "I don't know the words"
Poor kid, he doesn't know a lot of lyrics to a lot of songs
But I was all like "You don't have to! Just figure it out!"
Because really, the words to that song just roooollll off your tongue.
Like an offer rolls off the tongue of an auctioneer. Duh.
Just now "The Longest Time" came on my Pandora.
Heyooooo buddy! You know I was lovin it!
I'm totally a toe tapper at work.
And a chair dancer.
And a hummer.
Sometimes I hum to the music when I have my headphones in.
Or hum in the elevator in the middle of a song playing in my head.
It's perfectly normal.
Everyone does it.
Besides, no one can hear me.
That's what I tell myself.

You wish you could be like me.

"I can't seem to stop singing wherever I am.
And what's worse, I can't seem to stop saying things
anything and everything I think and feel."

We are so alike, Maria and I.

101 dalmatians

,
You know the scene at the beginning of 101 Dalmatians when Anita is sitting with Perdi and watching all the people pass by
... or maybe Roger was with Pongo...
whatever I don't know.

Alls I knows is that the dogs matched the peoples! And I always think of that scene fondly. Can't you just guess what type of pet some people have? It's like when you meet someones parent and its like YES! They soooo go together!

Sometimes couples are like that too. Today we walked into the eye doctor to look at prescription sunglasses and the doctor, she's so great I like her a lot, says "you two are finally together! I always see you separately! But it totally makes sense!" We've each seen her twice. Maybe more, but definitely not a lot. So it was cute.

We're odd in the same kinds of ways, my bestie and I. Like when hubs hangs up the phone and I ask what the person on the other end said (because otherwise he'd never tell me). He usually responds "He said you're ugly and you can't read good. But I told him don't you say that about my wife!"

Well today I was thinking about the park scene in light of the wedding season that is upon us. Then when hubs sent me an email asking "what did so-and-so-say?" you know how I responded. "He said you're ugly and you can't read good."

It's like YES! They soooo go together!

I'm a rebel

,
Just kidding. I'm anything but a rebel.

My body on the other hand. Well it is highly rebelious.

Highly is the wrong adjective there. I should say "very" but "highly" what my father would say so I'll just honor him by using it.

Oookkay folks I just had one of those moments where you ask yourself a question and then go in circles trying to answer it yourself. And then you ask a friend instead but you can't hear her cause you're still talking to yourself. The conversation started with me asking if "very" in the phrase "very rebelious" was an adjective or an adverb. It went on for a few minutes and then ended like this:

Crazy lady:
see the trouble comes in that i originally typed "highly rebelious" and anything that ends in an "ly" is usually an adverb, but it seemed more like an adverb that was used incorrectly in place of and adjective and then by brain just went off the deep end
Coworker:
luckily we don't have to identify our adverbs when we write or say them. Well, you apparently do in your head, but the rest of us out there don't care too much
Oh you don't care about my problem with grammar?
Well FINE then! I'll get back to my original point.

The point is: on Monday, and Thursday, and Friday, and Wednesday, and on Tuesday... this Tuesday in particular, my body doesn't like to. I think I have some wires crossed somewheres. Cause if I sit too long- on a couch or in a movie theatre or at a desk or in a yoga pose- I yawn an incessant amount, get a headache, think too much or too little, cry, get angry... and those things are not Mutually Exclusive and Collectively Exhaustive folks! It gets scary!

Which is really silly cause I don't mind sitting all that much. Except my body does. It's such a rebel.

I'm so glad you understand me :-)
