Christmas lyrics

,
Wednesday night I was out shopping with Julie at Barnes & Noble. She turns around and says "is this about to be a flash mob?" Sure enough, there was a crowd gathered that, in my claustrophobia, I had failed to see.

Turns out, they weren't flash mobers. They were just carolers. Except they were uninvited and a little sneaky, so maybe that makes it a flash mob. Anywho, they opened with the Carol of the Bells. A wonderful caroler's tune :-)

I love listening to and thinking about the lyrics of Christmas music...

Silent Night
Silent night! holy night!
Shepherds quake at the sight
glories stream from heaven afar
heavenly hosts sing Hallelujah
Christ the Saviour is born!
Silent night! holy night!
Son of God love's pure light
radiant beams from thy holy face
with the dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus, Lord at thy birth.
Luke 2:8-19

Angels We Have Heard on High
Come to Bethlehem and see
Him whose birth the angels sing,
Come on adore on bended knee
Christ, the Lord, our new born King

Joy to the world
Joy to the world, the Lord is come! Let earth receive her King;
let every heart prepare him room,
and heaven and nature sing...
No more let sins and sorrows grow,
nor thorns infest the ground;
he comes to make his blessings flow
far as the curse is found...
He rules the world with truth and grace,
and makes the nations prove
the glories of his righteousness,
and wonders of his love...
Christmas. What a wonderful holiday.

Merry Christmas Eve, everyone!
